Interest and depreciation are killers, especially if you cant write those costs off against your tax bill at the end of the year. Price how much a contractor will charge you to do what you intend to do with this old Ford in one year even and you will soon see they are worth repairing. The exchange motors sound like they may be reasonable option alternatively as Rod says price up parts and find a mechanic that another farmer will recommend and go with them.
