When you slip in 'Just rebiult motor.' Did you fit a larger kit than standard? Has the compression ratio been raised in any other way? If you have, then change to 12 volt, if not sort out the present system. The general opinions on the board are more against 8 volt than for 6. If you look in the archives there will be heaps of posts on the subject. I would think if you compare posts favouring the 8 volt system, over 6 or 12, the percentage is very low. Me, if it worked OK 50 years ago it should work OK now is the way I look at it. All my tractors are started with the crank handle and I don't 'swing' them, I just lift the handle. RAB
