Aloha, I would stay with the alternator and make a list of what gauges, lights, etc. that needs to be hooked up. After you have all those listed, then make a schematic drawing for the wiring. Ok, if the alternator is charging ok, then leave the wiring alone or change it if it doesn't look too good (cracking insulation etc.) and use mechanical gauges for your water temperature and oil pressure. Just take one item at a time and everything should come out ok. Mahalo, doogdoog
