Roger, Brazing is a good repair for cast ,but leaves a bit to be desired for manifolds because of the thermal cycling and the difference in the expansion rates between braze and cast iron. A better repair is oxy/acet with cast iron rod (cast iron in stick form),with that process the base material and the repair material are the same.
