Removing Al House Siding To Recycle

Hello all. I'm the maintenance manager at a Christian camp and retreat center and money's tight. We've recently been informed of a house that's being demolished. It's about a hour and a half away, and has all aluminum siding, gutters, downspouts, fascia, soffit and window shutters. I think there's enough aluminum there to warrant peeling it off and selling it at the scrap yard. Has anyone ever done this? (I know criminals do) We'll have a volunteer crew next week to help with this if we decide to do it. I know I should have some measurements, but I wasn't prepared when I looked at the house. It's a two story, probably 3 or 4 bedroom, so there's quite a bit of house. It's got 10" siding. I would imagine there's around $2000 worth of aluminum on that house. With a volunteer crew, and a trailer to haul it back to the scrap yard, do you think it's a good idea? There also might be some copper plumbing and wiring that can be removed too. Let me know what you think.
