The SOS is kind of a mixed bag. My opinion is it's quite "user friendly". It's clutchless gear changing capability makes it handy for tasks such as bailing and bush hogging; also for shuttle operations like blading snow, etc. However my experience is the SOS does NOT stand up up well to abuse or continuous heavy loads (plowing, etc). Also some (or all?) SOS tranny's will freewheel in certain gears under an overhauling load - a definite safety issue if you use the tractor in hilly territory. Finally the SOS is not cheap to repair when it breaks, and finding someone to work on one can be a problem.
