Rusty, you are right about those tomato's. They are picked green and then turned red(orange really) with chemicals. They have to stay on the vine and soak up the sun to have any flavor to them. I suppose lots of folks have never had a good tomato. I have canned 46 quarts of them so far and eating them daily. Finally been getting cucumbers the last 3 or 4 days. Fresh is definetly much better.
