I would look into Amsoil before using Mobil 1. Mobil is a good oil but they will not (unless recently changed) warranty any engine problems caused by extended drain intervals even if the oil can do so. Amsoil will fully warrant their oil upto 35K mile drain intervals! It has been suggested that you run two or three oil changes on dino oil to allow the engine to break in properly BUT some new engines such as the Corvette are sent out the factory door with synthetic oil so it is up to you. I would think 10k miles would be enough to switch.
