Mobil will say it's OK to use Mobil 1 from the get-go. I wait a few thousand miles and no probs in 25? years with the product. I love it, love the extended oil change and love the easy start in winter. I even used it in a farm truck with a good engine and it brought oil pressure up a lot. I think I used 15w50?. I now use synthetic in all the farm equipment I can. Technology is wonderful. Personally, I steer clear of Amsoil because of the "multi-level" marketing arrangement. You can't get an honest answer because you never know if the person giving it also sells it.
