Hi AB, Race cars have their manifolds/headers sprayed with aluminum alloy #1300 to dissipate heat and for corrosion protection. They also tend to be self cleaning just like an oven. I can put you on to a shop who will do it for you if you like. It's not expensive and the parts can go UPS. I'd be glad to tell you more about the process if you're interested.
