I had an 86 F-250 6.9. The low side connection is on the receiver/accumulator on the RHS (passenger side) of the engine by the blower motor. The high side will be nearby on the high side line from the condenser to the receiver accumulator or at the discharge of the compressor. The fittings for the high and low side are different sizes. You may need an adapter for the high side fitting as it is smaller than the low side fitting.
Do not overfill the system and run with high discharge pressure. This will shorten the life of the compressor.
I generally kept mine at about a 35 to 40F saturation temp on the low side.
Periodically, you may want to remove the blower motor and clean out the evaporator box. Mine would also accumulate trash and debris and block airflow.
