Glad to hear your input. That tire must have a really thick carcass inbetween the lugs for the nail to be in so deep and not get the tube.
Last summer I ran over a board w/ a nail in it on the front of my 1600 and the tire went down 1/2 way by the time I took it off. The tire shop couldn't find any hole though so they gave me the tube back and put a new one in just to be sure- that one was weird but there must have been air trapped between the tire & tube that couldn't get out till I put a hole in the tire.
