if you do have a 801/901 series Powermaster you will find the model number and serial number located on the flat, directly behind the starter on the left side of fwd trans, just under the battery box, alot of time the numbers will be ate up from battery acid and/or painted over quite a bit. you may need to scrape off some paint to read the numbers. behind the starter on the top side of the lug that protrudes out, should be a flat that faces out with two tapped holes, the numbers will be found on the top above that flat/machined area stamped into the trans casting. sometimes when changing out the tranmissions guys would stamp the ser no. onto the opposite side of the trans, same place. post pics if you can which will help but a lot of times these old machine have been repainted and not the true colors and/or same pattern, the powermasters had grey hood with a red stripe including the whole radiator painted red. good luck, Kent in KS.
