I've had hydrostatics for the last 25 years now..Haven't had a minutes worth of problems with any one of them..I change the filter every couple of years and top off the reservoir with oil recomended by the manufacturer..I fill the filters before screwing a new one on..My latest mower is an Encore Zero -Turn [ Z-48 ]..Have had it since '97..Just belts , Idler bearings and batteries..5 weeks seems like a long time to rebuild a hydrostatic unit..Think maybe , they haven't done any before ??
