We used to feed 2 litres from start to finish but have since started using the method above and it will get the calves out of the hutches up to 2 weeks earlier. If your not trying to get them in and out then 2 litres will work quite fine.Like Allan said you can make them to drink out of the pail from day 1. The first morning is a bugger but they get the hang of it pretty quickly.
