You put it well. This saw has been a piece of junk. You observe that I must not use it much--that's my point about junk. Saw has less than 100 hours on it , although it is 15 years old.
I'm used to saws that one starts about two times a year,and then abusively use but take all one can give. This Stihl can't cut it. No pun intended.
Sorry about the rant but thanks for the advice and direction. Thanks for confirming , too, something I already knew about the 034 being junk.
