We had severe wet weather before and during the match held 21 & 22 October at Nevern on the North Pembrokeshire coast. The soil was relatively light but you can see what the headlands looked like with tractors turning. The guys on the grain stubble had great difficulties in getting the soil to run clean off the mouldboards, it stuck even though they were bright & shiny. The soil wouldnt turn over and flow nicely to form even and well set furrows, and several had their ploughs bung up under the frame. It was a shame for all those who had worked so hard to create the event and the competitors who travelled long distances to participate.
