I have the farm where my grandparents raised my Dad,my aunts and uncles. One of my Dads sisters and one of his brothers are the only ones left. I farm that uncles place too and try to stay as close to him as I can,but his health is failing fast. My Granddad passed away 3 years before I was born, but I've never heard anybody have a bad word to say about him. I still to this day hear old folks comment on how good his horses looked,or how he did OK during the depression. One old guy told me one time that Grandpa always pushed the plow as hard as the horses were pulling. Dads family was always pretty close and got together a lot. Toward the later years,I'd hear them say how I look like Grandpa,or how much I remind them of him. I'll tell ya,it can sure humble a guy to hear that about somebody that you never knew.So it's not that he ever had any influence on me to make me who I am. Just makes me darned careful not to tarnish the image of somebody that was so well thought of.
