I'm running my dads old 84 f150 with the 300 six.The (TFI) module has been replaced 3 or 4 times since dad bought it new.Like Vern-MI said below,when they usually go...they go.
However,the last one did act up a few times before I replaced it.Be sure to use the silicone dielectric(sp ?) compound on it if you replace it.Napa sould have the socket to remove.
Also,one time the truck was quiting for no reason driving down the road,or just not starting at times.Turned out the "whole" fuse box by the E-brake was loose making a bad connection.Can't remember if theres a screw through the the box to keep the connection tight,or a bolt through the firewall(from under the hood) to the back of the box.
