Hi Mark I have a 930 and don't know if the 1030 is the same but Steve pretty well described the area to find the PTO clutch brake by removing the plate on the right side. I would strongly suggest getting a manual for this in that it will show you how to release the clutch brake and which way to turn that assembly. Another suggestion would be if you use a brush hog or any implement that keeps turning after shutting off the PTO it would be a good idea to get an overrunning adapter to go on the PTO since it will wear your PTO brake out on any tractor without one. Don't have any ideas about the miss or the hydraulics other than what you have already said about them, sounds like a seal somewhere in there to me. I have heard a lot of tractors miss when first started and line out after a while. Tom
