Just because it says JD on it doesn't mean much any longer, either. I was down at the local Deere dealer and noticed that their light weight bush hog's gear box was stamped "Made in China", caveat emptor!
I have 2 Woods implements...a 7' grader blade and a RM 660 finish mower. The blade has held up well enough and the mower is so-so. I had a Caroni finish mower for 20+ years prior to the Woods and can't say enough good things about it. The second deck finally rusted through and I couldn't find a replacement. I am sure that had I kept it shedded, it would still be mowing as the spindles and gear box are still fine. I just have more equipment than shed space. My old bushhog is a New Holland...even the dealer told me they never made one...but I have one just the same. It's about 50 years old! I like older Ford implements, especially their plows. I also have a Ford wheel disc...it's a good machine, butfor a pick up disc, the old Massey adjustable discs are top drawer, if you can find that isn't worn out. They cost beaucoup bucks to rebuild. If you're buying new stuff...I don't know what to tell you, my pockets aren't deep enough to afford new equipment.

You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U
