I have a 275 gallon plastic tote tank sitting outside that has about 30 gallons of red diesel in it. This fuel was put in the tank new back in January. I just drew about 5 gallons of water off the bottom of the tank and some pink milky stuff. The tank was clean and dry inside before this fuel was put in and the tank is sealed up so nothing could have leaked in. This tank has set in the sun all summer. Did this fuel go bad, separate, "de-refine" itself? I'd like not to have to put it out as waste oil as it's about $100 worth now and I could use it in the shop furnaces if it's salvageable. Any thoughts?
