Finishing a tractor?

I have a 58 JD730 diesel. I had the the whole tractor sandblasted. Now that the tractor is down to the bare metal I was looking for some suggestions on how to finish it. What brands and types of primers and paints to use, what sanding methods to use, ect. I want a nice looking finish that is also durable (able to withstand the occasional fuel spill), but I don't want to break the bank because I already have too much money in the rest of the tractor. Thanks Ryan
