It _is_ hard on the engine. Ether burns differently (more violent) than diesel. You can really strain the engine. You want small gulps. Most manufacturers have provisions for using the stuff. Be _very_ careful with some tractors - for example my Ford 7700 has a glow plug in the intake manifold, and it will blow apart if I 'just squirt ether in.' They have a kit to inject ether into the airstream after the glowplug.... --->Paul
