Sheridan lost two good men yesterday. My mother called last nite and said that the last of my Dads brothers passed away peacefully at home in his own bed at around 7pm. Also that a good friend of the family had passed earlier in the afternoon. He was our milk hauler for a lot of years.Lived here locally so we were one of his first stops. When the boys were little, they liked to go with him on the route then he'd drop them off on the way home. He hauled for 50 years. After he retired,he drove gravel truck for my brother part time. As for my uncle,he was one of the last of that generation. There is one sister and 3 or 4 cousins left. At one of my aunts funeral a few years ago,one of my older cousins said that when Great grandma died when she was a kid,it was OK because she still had Grandma and her dad. When Grandma died 30 years ago,she still had her dad. She said but now with that generation passing fast,"you know,we're next". Makes you think.
