As a buyer, I don't use PayPal. Never have, and don't intend to. No specific reason why I don't use it, just don't. As to the personal checks. If I see an auction that interests me, the first thing I check is the payment methods accepted. If a personal check is accepted, I'll probably bid the auction. If a money order is accepted, I may bid the auction. If PayPal only is indicated, I'll not look at the auction any further. As a buyer, the check is basically cost free to me. A money order cost me the price of the money order service fee, plus a gallon of gasoline, wear and tear on my vehicle, and 20 to 30 minutes of my time to drive to town and back to get it. Don't know why I should incur these additional costs to bid an auction if I don't have to. Just this buyer's opinion.
