Theres no savings when you buy fuel for 30 - 50 cents a gallon due to government subsidies. Where does the government get the money to subsidize oil? From everyone of us taxpayers. Fact of the matter is that we do not pay at the pumps all the costs of the fuel and to sum up the total costs including the externalities fuel costs are actually close to 4 times what we pay at the pumps. So to further subsidize to bring the prices at the pump down does nothing to our pocketbooks, or our motivation to find cheaper fuel sources.
