Last fall I bought a Buffalo Tools 4kw generator as a backup, for $400 it was hard to go wrong. I think it has one of those 6.5 hp engines on it. Would I trust this thing to power my job-site if I built a house? No. Will I trust it to power a few things in my house for 3 days while the power is off? Yes.
The research that I did online when I bought it lead me to beleive that the Honda parts were interchangeable with the 'China' engine. This is because it IS a reverse engineered Honda engine. The Chinese are masters of this... they just haven't perfected the metal quality yet.
