My dad worked for the largest golf car dealer in Canada and third largest in N. America. $3,000,000 worth a year for Yamaha. They originally sold Yamaha and still do. Then they added EZ-GO. Yamaha sold the most by a pretty big margin. EZ-GO had 2 cylinder engines if I remember right. The mechanic said the Yamaha was a better cart. A former mechanic there went to work for a place that buys older golf carts and reconditions them. He worked on all makes including Club Car. Yamaha and Club Car are the top 2 brands of golf cars. He also said Yamaha is a better cart and easier to work on. The Club Cars may have been 2 cylinder as well. I can't remember. One of the big disadvantages of a Club Car is the Aluminum frame. If it ever needs repairing, it has to be sent to a specialty shop to get done. I don't know how much you want to spend, but would suggest buying from an established dealer. Where my dad worked they got lots of trade ins and sold a fairly large rental fleet every year. The newer carts came with a warrantee. They had a trade in once that my dad was going to buy. I wish he would of. It was a Cushman golf cart with an 18 HP engine. The same as used in the Cushman utility vehicles used on most golf courses. The drawback was it only had 1 speed and not a 3-on-tree like the utility vehicle. The really neat part was that it looked like a 57 Chevy. Hope this helps. Dave
