I've been posting questions and answers on here for awhile but I have never posted any backround. So here goes. I'll be 60 [on the 6th], Tractor owner, 8n-600 fords, 445 moline. My sons and grandkids pull the 600 and moline on a reagular basis. Once in awhile we pull the 8-n if they offer a light class. Farm raised but dad worked in town as I did. We live on a couple of acres in a rural area 7 miles west of Ft. Wayne Ind., just north of US hy 30. I was forced to retire from Zollner Pistons in 1995 after 28 yrs. due to congestive heart problem. 2 time sudden cardiac arrest surviver thanks to implanted defribulator. I have a been tractor pulling as a hobby since 1962 and have 3 tractor pulling scales we rent out for pulling. My son and I also announce for pulls. Last year we serviced around 80 pulls in 9 states. I've probably been to some pulls that other contributers have been to. [possibly Lanse at the fairgrounds in downtown Dayton Oh. example?] This site has been a great source of info especially when the shifter lever came out of the sherman trans in the 600.
