I must have lucked up this year. Got three cuttings off one field, 2 off another, got 22 4x4 bales, 140 square, and a pile of loose hay. Added together, I have maybe $5 a roll in round, a dollar a bale in square, and about $25 in loose. Would have had a late cutting after the frost, but my mower tore up, and I had a neighbor that was gonna cut it for me and we'd split the hay, but he was more interested in moving what he had than trying to make a little more hay. Needless to say, I was peeved, now I got to burn that field this spring because of that. Leastwise, I only had a little investment in the crop. About three tons of hen litter to the acre, some fuel, and about a hundred dollars worth of chemical. Pretty decent showing in my opinion.
