That is a bunch of BS. JD is totally right about the price of propane being higher. People don't yank a powerplant when something is 1 penny cheaper. Most of these things were installed many years ago and the prices have changed a lot since they were built. Otherwise every diesel pickup would be getting put up on blocks in the back yard because diesel is 70 cents a gallon higher. It takes years and even decades to react to a price hike on some fuels. People use what they have. It is a big job to jump from one kind of fuel to another. Everybody I know talks a big game about what they are going to do because of the high price of propane or fuel oil. Guess what most of them do? Pay it because that is about the only means they have right now. Buying a $10,000 dollar outdoor wood burner is not that attainable for a lot of people. Especially if they don't have a woods. Same with a corn stove. Changing $50,000 dollars worth of irrigation pumps is not going to happen overnight either. What people should be looking at is wind and solar and look how slow that is coming down the pike.
