As others said, store management plays a big part. As Traditional Farmer states, TSC, like any other store in business today, will stock what sells. They have computerized inventory management systems If they have a part that sat on the shelf for 5 years, they will be reluctant to put another one there, to sit for another 5 years.
As for hiring young girls who know nothing about the farm business, think about that remark. When they have an opening, they hire from the pool of applicants who apply. People who have the knowledge about farming that posters would like to see in the stores aren't lining up for jobs at TSC. My experience with TSC is that some of the workers are knowledgable, but I don't hold it against the kid (working on weekends to make a few bucks) when he doesn't know an answer to a question. Willingness to find out or help me look (i.e. customer service attitude) goes a long way in my book. Plus, he's learning each day and at least is not sitting home playing video games.
