I don't think you have to report it. I think the school probably knows that there is probably guns on the grounds. As a whole, schools are still pretty safe, but these shootings are getting far more common. In what happened today, the shooter didn't even go to Northern Illinois University!. In some cases, students having guns would be a good thing so they could defend themselves when something like this goes down, however I don't think that guns do belong in schools. I don't think the system is broken to tell you the truth. I mean, there isn't anything that could be done without making life miserable for everyone to improve the saftey of schools. You would have to start treating people like criminals with patdowns, searches and make them pass through metal detectors with armed guards watching, put bars over all the windows. Install MORE video cameras. I'm sorry, but I don't wish to be treated like a prisoner and I question just how effective these extra measures would be at stopping a mad man who's desire is murder-suicide. I blame the media for making such a big deal out of these stories, yes they are big news, but seems to me like they are fueling all these copy cats and thats why there is such an increase in school shootings.
