I HAVE A 1950 FERGUSON TEA20-85 I AM CURRENTLY DOING A RESTORATION.YESTERDAY I REMOVED THE STEERING HOUSING IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE STEERING DROP ARM SHAFT SEALS.WHEN DOING THAT I NOTICED THAT THERE IS NO OIL OF ANY KIND INSIDE (THE BOTTOM)OF THE TRANSMISSION HOUSING.I AM AWARE THAT THE DIFF AND TRANS SHARE COMMON FLUID,BUT SHOULD THERE NOT BE RESIDIUAL FLUID IN THE BOTTOM OF THE TRANS HOUSING.THE TRACTOR HAS NOT BEEN IN USE FOR SOME TIME AND ALL THE GEARS LOOK TO BE IN EXCELLENT SHAPE.THE DIPSTICK FOR THE REAR DIFF SHOWS THE FLUID LEVEL AS BEING GOOD.
