Two sixes will roll it over just fine. Some would argue that 2-12V in parallel are better, but I think it is a toss-up at best. When you install new batteries, swap out ALL your old, cruddy cables with the clamp on post connections and use 2/0 cable with crimped, soldered connectors. Clean up the ground, and if it is not grounded to a cast part of the chassis, consider relocating the ground, perhaps to a starter mount bolt.
