You've got 'er figured out. The 1066 uses a "Hi-Lo" hydraulically controled gear change to move between main drive and the T/A.
Get out your operator's manual and adjust the main clutch. If that doesn't help, sounds like ya needs a clutch 'cause it is slipping.
Main clutch problems show up on the hi side first because of the gear ratios involved. T/A problems "usually" show up on the lo side because of that darned sprague.
