DON'T DO THAT. As soon as the bearing touches it,you'll boil the grease right out of the bearing. What kind of bearing is it? Is the outside of the bearing race flat or oval? If it's flat,there is a snap ring that holds it in. It just presses straight in. If it's oval,there is a notch in each side of the block. You have to tip the bearing 90 degrees to the block,push it in to the notches,then tip it in.The notches are in the back side of it. You have the block off the spreader don't you? You have to have it off of there.
