I don't know, most successful auction companies in this area and up through western Kansas and Nebraska are a pretty close bunch, mostly multi-generation outfits...From what I've talked to them they are disgusted that what Kruse is doing is associated with auctioneers...
I know of one auction house that charges a bidder's commission in this area, and he's not very popular for anything but junk auctions (clean out your garage consignment type sales) because he doesn't get much for crowds or prices...I don't see anybody in this area doing what Kruse is doing anytime soon...especially the part about conducting a sale when another auction company had a contract to do it.
I'll bet Kruse will regret taking the sale, IF they make money (think of the advertising dollars spent so far) it will be from the cover charge...and they are planning on 9,000 people. Sorry, ain't gonna happen.
On a side note, I wonder what they are going to do with the no-sale stuff and the stuff people buy and leave when they can't get it loaded?
