I'm going to open up a can of worms but your agent is not at fault unless, he knew the underwriting parameters. Some underwriter is showing how insignificant amount of knowledge a person needs to be an underwriter. I once had a underwriter in the 1980's turn down a house because it had a metal roof. They would not offer a homeowners policy to them but they would offer a fire insurance policy to them like that million $ house was a barn. Anyone that knows anything about a metal roof knows it is far superior to an asphalt shingle roof. This was the 3rd largest carrier in the state of GA. Underwriters are the lowest paid people in an insurance company. They often are located in an office in a smaller city so they can get them to work for less money. There is no logic the way Insurance companies do business and they will hose you in a minute. Too much information is a child's hands can be dangerous and the same can be said of an insurance company.
