I had the stop set at .160 and the opening into the water jacket was at .074. I had a .250 insert and thought I could seal it with the thicker insert. No way. I bored on down so I can cover the hole. I know it is not a problem that will cause a problem just have to turn up an insert next week. If I can find a cast iron pipe I would like to turn it down. I will probly end up making it out of prehard 44 H 13 tool steel. I use that in the tool shop for mold inserts. It is bar stock and will take a bit more time because of having to bore out the center, cast iron pipe just needs the outside turned and a reamer run thru the center.
The counter bore cutters are carbide mandrel guided to the valve guides.
