Mark I used sickle mowers for several years till I purchased a Vemeer 6200 Disc mower.Build you a sickle using the coarse serrated sections,and put in new wear plates if they are used John Deere 350 doesn't use wear plates,also use a double section on the tip prevents clogging on end. As far as lube,I used a good high temp grease for bearings and give sickle bar a shot of motor oil before I went to the field. As far as adjustments on blade if shims are used check them. I take a three pd. ball peen hammer and tighen blade by knocking blade tensioners down,sounds rough and crude but it works,I can run in fifth and sixth gear mowing. Hope this helps later gman
