We used to figure that soil temp at seed depth had to be 55 degrees for corn to germinate. If the seed sits for over a week, unless the soil is dry, it"s likely to rot. Looks a lot better in the bag right now. Hang in there- in 36 years I"ve had years of May 9 and May 10 being the first day to even start field prep. Earliest was April 6. I keep track in my account book, on crop expense page. Just started tracking final freeze-up lately.
