I have cleaned all of the carbon and junk out of and off my pistons and valves on my MH 44-6. While I was doing this, I would turn the engine over by hand until the intake vavles would open, and then blow air through them. When I did this, tons of crap would fly out of the muffler. So I decided to take the manifold off, to see what was in there. To my surprise, over two cups of corn and old cat food came out of there. I guess mice will find these places when its been sitting for 30 years. Lots of old cat food was stuffed into the vavle openings also. After doing this, I noticed that a couple of the valves were cracked, and almost none of them are seating right. I need to find a valve overhaul kit fot this 266 continental engine. I was also wondering if I could preassure wash the motor, all fluids are drained out of it, with hot water to really clean it up. If I just let it air dry for a week or so, shouldn't it be fine. The oil pan, head, inspection plate, and front gear cover is off, so I should be able to clean the whole engine out. My only concern is that I won't be able to get all of the old oil out of the engine and the water won't dry, so then when I go to add new oil, there will be water in it. What do you guys think? I was also wondering where I could get a new valve overhaul kit? I couldnt find one on this website.
