whenever i pull sleeves from a john deere this is what i use. one piece ot 5/8 all thread rod about 18" long 2 nuts,and 2 heavy washers.1piece of 1/2x2"x41/4 steel bar radius the ends of the bar to fit curve of the sleeve,but the bar must be bigger than the sleeve.cut a slot in the center of the bar so the allthread will fit approx 5/8x11/2 this will let you slide the rod and bar down thru the top,you need another bar approx 3/4x2x6 with a 5/8 hole in the center.lay the6" bar across the head with a couple of spacers under it ,put them outside of the sleeve,puthe the nuts and washers on the rod ,reach down thru the sleeve and locate the bottom bar centered on the sleeve and tighten top nut CAUTION the bottom bar must be located xways from the centerline of the engine or the bar will be pulled into the block instead of pulling the sleeve hope this helps
