yes, as a matter of fact i did drive one. a 1984 model diesel chevy chevette. only drove it a short time, about 8 years and 225,000 miles before i had engine problems that were not worth fixing. sure wish i could get another one. great fuel mieage, but way short on acceleration and overall power. seen on the news that some manufacturers might be re-introducing diesel sub-compact autos.
