I had a 5500 hoe. Had oil leak in bottom housing. I pulled the engine and rebuilt the trany. looked good - back together - cranked it up - still leaked only worse! Pulled it down again - back to ford for another gasket kit - back together still no change. This time I got a black light and dye. Had to start and remove starter with it running - injected dye - The torque converter housing was leaking - back down again! By now this is getting old! Took the converter apart looked good. Checked the o ring - it looked good as well. Got another gasket from Ford, installed the new o ring. Now the problem! I noticed I had to stretch the new o ring to place it in the grove. I mic'ed the o ring in place and it didn't reach the top of the housing. Went to the bearing house and got the right o ring. Still running after 10 years. Don't trust Ford to give you the proper parts.
