My mother has run every piece of equipment on our farm be it the swather, baler, combine, grain truck, cultivator, discer, etc.....Most of which never had a cab or A/C except for the last peice, a Versatile 4400 swather which she is running as we speak........
This equipment was less than pristine I might add, it required a fair bit of patience and talent to operate since if you didn't hold you mouth just right it would fall apart(a virtue of owing old worn out equipment).............
She was able to repair canvases/slats, change guards/sections, replace the odd bearing, etc., all on her own while Dad was able to continue whatever operation he was in the middle of without having to stop costing time which can be quite precious during haying/harvest time..........
I'm not trying to take away from the accomplishments of others but in my mind there is no comparision between her and other women who operated new equipment under close to ideal conditions..........
Looking back at what she'd accomplished over the years I can't find the words to adequately describe my admiration and respect.............
