I've never had a diesel. I do too much short-run work and everyone tells me that'll kill a diesel. I do have an 89 K3500 Chevy with the 454, and it's a towing fool. I put a hoist under the bed, and I tow a small backhoe on a 14' flatbed trailer with a box full of crushed rock or whatever, and it just runs and runs and runs. Only mod I've made is adding a cooler and a shift kit to the TH400 trans. Brakes, however, are another story...
