Well,its hard to say.Whenever I blew up a motor a couple of times it was running good,then like you said,a little noise and it stopped,but I had a rod through the side of one and it started back up.The other one wouldnt start,no rod out the side.I guess it wouldnt matter,but I know what a cam bearing spinning screech sounds like.I dont think you have cam bearings maybe.Those were cars that wound up a lot more RPMs that blew up.Inline Ford 6 cylinders.
If I couldnt turn it,I think I would pull the pan and look in there just to see what I could.Something about has to be stuck,and if its not a rod or main bearing you are lucky.
